*BEING SENT ON BEHALF OF
SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC*
Attention All in RAL North:
This email serves as a notification
to request permission to begin the installation of windows on all floors of
Roger Adams Laboratory North (please see attached drawing mark-ups). Schneider
Electric is requesting this work to be performed beginning March 30th,
2019 with a mock up in Rm. 112A. . The start times of the subcontractor
will be at 7 am through 3 pm Monday-Friday. Due to the fact that different
windows were ordered at different times, the windows will be shipped out to the
site on three different dates. This initial schedule shows the window that will
be installed on the first two trucks. The first two trucks will be delivered
the week of 3/23/20 and week of 4/20/20. The windows that are not highlighted
and are grey in color on the elevation plans are windows that were a part of a
change order. These windows will not be delivered until the week of 5/18/20.
Three months prior to the installation, a detailed schedule like the one we are
presenting for the first two trailers will be provided. *Please Note*: these
dates are subject to change based on our ability to coordinate with university
staff and occupants of the affected rooms. Dates may also be changed to
coincide with changes to the work schedules of our mechanical subcontractor,
Davis-Houk , as they may arise. Weather conditions may also play a factor in
installation timelines.
Attached, you will find a detailed
schedule for each elevation where windows will be installed. Also attached is
an aerial of Roger Adams Lab that will show you where each elevation is
located, dates work will be performed, the areas where storage trailers will
placed, and placement of the crane as we move around the building. Subsequent
outage requests for this scope of work will be sent out to Josh Whitson with F
& S for official review and approval as needed. A three month look ahead
has been provided to show work associated with this scope for the next 90 days.
Precision Windows will start
installation on Monday, March 30th with the mock-up in Rm. 112A. The
mock-up will serve as the standard for the installation of the windows. The
mock-up will last for two days ending on March 31st. The intent of
the subcontractor is to start on the 4th floor after the mock up and
work their way down for each elevation. Covers will placed on the interior of
the window prior to it being removed. Precision’s plan is to pull out and
replace (4) windows per day. After the windows are installed during that day,
Precision will come back in the following morning to remove the cover and
complete the trim on the inside of the window. They will not take out windows
that they won’t have time to put back in the same day. In certain instances,
the subcontractor may need to go to another room to work because of an
inability to access a space on the date indicated due to planned activities by
staff and occupants of the space or other potential issues. In this case, they
will move to another space to work.
A two week look ahead will be
provided to the University to let staff know what are the intended spaces that
we need access to for that time period. SE and Precision will work with the
University on changes to the schedule as they are requested. SE will track the
progress of the project daily and communicate with the University, i.e. Karla Southern,
Chad Stevens, & Dennis Dalby. These dates are tentative and subject to
change based on our ability to gain clear access to the rooms during the time
periods that are being requested.
If there are any additional questions regarding the
construction work associated with the install of windows in Roger Adams
Laboratory North, feel free to contact me.
